Sony Block Solutions Labs’ Ethereum Layer 2 network Soneium has partnered with South Korean entertainment company DayOneDream to tokenize K-pop intellectual property and revenue streams through the WAVIST platform.

The partnership marks an expansion of blockchain infrastructure into entertainment assets. Soneium is an Ethereum Layer 2 developed by Sony Block Solutions Labs. DayOneDream manages and operates businesses around multiple K-pop artists, including BTOB, Lee Chae Yeon, MeMi, and 2F, and handles concerts and publishing.

WAVIST is designed to turn specific entertainment cash flows into investable onchain products. The platform can tokenize revenue from concerts, content, streaming, and intellectual-property rights. The tokenization structure allows a defined stream of future income to be packaged separately without requiring the artist or production company to sell the underlying IP itself.

Completed Lifecycle Test

WAVIST has already completed a full lifecycle for a K-pop IP-backed tokenized note, including issuance, distribution, repayment, and token burning. Issuance and settlement records are maintained onchain.

The approach differs from most real-world asset tokenization to date. Most RWA activity has concentrated on Treasury bills, credit, funds, and equities. Entertainment rights remain less standardized as an asset class.

Investor Eligibility and Regulatory Compliance

Participation in future offerings will depend on investor eligibility and applicable securities rules. DayOneDream did not disclose the size of planned offerings, a launch date for the first Soneium-based offering, or which artist or asset will be used for the initial release.
