KuCoin Futures has launched USDT-margined perpetual contracts tracking Nike, Accenture, and the Breakwave Tanker Shipping ETF, offering traders synthetic price exposure to traditional equities and commodities through crypto-native derivatives infrastructure.
The contracts support leverage ranging from 1x to 20x. Funding is settled every eight hours, with a funding rate capped at plus or minus 2 percent. Trading operates 24/7, including during U.S. market closures, allowing price discovery outside official cash-market hours.
How Perpetual Futures Work
These are synthetic derivatives. Traders gain price exposure to the underlying assets but do not own the shares, receive voting rights, or take delivery of stock. The perpetual structure, which originated in crypto markets, is increasingly adapted for traditional assets including commodities and equities.
Price gaps between perpetual and last official cash-market prices can widen, especially around major news events, when trading occurs outside standard market hours. This dynamic reflects the continuous nature of crypto derivatives trading against the defined session structure of traditional equity markets.
Product Details
Nike and Accenture are individual equity securities available as perpetual contracts. The Breakwave Tanker Shipping ETF expands the product suite beyond single stocks into specialized sector exposure. All three assets trade on the same leverage range and settlement schedule.
The 1x to 20x leverage band allows both conservative and aggressive positioning. The eight-hour funding interval ensures regular rebalancing of long and short positions through automated settlement mechanics.
KuCoin did not specify whether these contracts are available to all users or subject to geographic restrictions, nor did the exchange provide trading volume or open interest metrics at launch.
