Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, co-founders of the crypto exchange Gemini, donated over $10 million to MAGA Inc., a super PAC supporting President Donald Trump, according to a filing on Tuesday, July 22, 2026. Each twin contributed $5 million.
The donation follows a period of regulatory relief for Gemini under the Trump administration. In April 2026, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission granted Gemini a derivatives license. The CFTC had also requested a judge vacate a $5 million penalty against Gemini approximately one month before the donation.
The twins have long positioned themselves as Bitcoin advocates and Trump supporters. In 2024, they donated 30.94 Bitcoin to the Trump campaign, valued at over $2 million at the time. Tyler Winklevoss stated then: “President Donald J. Trump is the pro-Bitcoin, pro-crypto, and pro-business choice. This is not even remotely open for debate. Anyone who tells you otherwise is severely misinformed, delusional, or not telling the truth.”
Gemini itself has undergone significant changes since Trump took office. The exchange experienced months of turmoil during the Biden administration, including layoffs and executive departures. In May 2026, the twins announced a $100 million Bitcoin-funded investment in Gemini, coinciding with a 20% jump in the company’s share price in after-hours trading.
MAGA Inc. has raised $400 million ahead of November midterm elections, The twins’ donation represents a substantial contribution to the super PAC’s fundraising effort.
Gemini reported 42% year-over-year revenue growth in the first quarter of 2026 and narrowed its net loss to $109 million. The company’s stock price, however, remains down 89% from its initial public offering high.
