Tetra Digital Group deployed CADD, its Canadian-dollar stablecoin, on the Solana blockchain on September 23, 2026. The move expands CADD’s availability beyond Ethereum, Base, and Tempo, where it launched earlier in 2026.
CADD is described by Tetra as the first Canadian-dollar stablecoin issued by a regulated financial institution. Each token is backed by Canadian-dollar reserves on a one-to-one basis. The stablecoin can be used for payments, transfers, treasury operations, and settlement.
Why Solana
Most stablecoin activity centers on U.S. dollar assets like USDT and USDC. Users transacting in other currencies must convert through dollar-denominated intermediaries, adding friction and cost. Solana offers low-cost, high-throughput settlement and an active stablecoin ecosystem, positioning it as a natural expansion target for non-dollar stablecoins.
CADD’s deployment to Solana gives applications another way to settle and transfer CAD-denominated value onchain without routing through U.S. dollar stablecoins.
Multi-Chain Strategy
The Solana deployment follows CADD’s earlier launches on Ethereum, Base, and Tempo. This multi-chain approach allows applications across different blockchain ecosystems to access Canadian-dollar liquidity without network switching.
Tetra Digital Group did not disclose total CADD supply or circulation figures, nor did it name specific payment companies or financial applications planning to integrate the stablecoin on Solana.
