Strive, Inc. purchased 21 bitcoin between July 13 and 17 at an average price of $63,221 per coin, expanding its corporate treasury to 19,921 BTC while cash reserves climbed to $157.4 million, according to an SEC 8-K filing released Monday.

The Dallas-based treasury company, which trades on Nasdaq under the ticker ASST, funded the purchase from its balance sheet. The $1.3 million acquisition marks the latest step in Strive’s stated strategy to accumulate bitcoin through perpetual preferred equity issuance rather than convertible debt.

Cash and cash equivalents rose by $3.3 million from the prior week, when reserves stood at $154.1 million. The company’s Class A shares outstanding increased by 443,797 to 73,869,961 through an at-the-market offering program.

Accumulation Strategy

Strive went public through a merger of Strive Asset Management and Asset Entities. In January 2026, the company acquired Semler Scientific in an all-stock deal that added bitcoin holdings and pushed combined holdings past 12,000 BTC at the time of closing.

Chief Executive Officer Matthew Cole has characterized the accumulation pace as proceeding “hand over fist.” The average cost of the latest purchase sits below levels paid during earlier accumulation phases, according to the filing.

The company has set a target war chest of $4.2 billion for future bitcoin purchases. Strive ranks among the top ten public corporate holders of bitcoin, though it remains substantially behind Strategy, which holds 843,775 BTC.

Position Details

Strive’s model issues shares into the open market and converts the proceeds to bitcoin. Management has tied the blended cost basis to a long-run thesis on the asset.

The company also holds 505,000 shares of STRC, valued at $43.1 million as of July 17. That stake declined $1.1 million in fair value during the week.

Strive reported a $393 million loss in its first six months as a public company, attributable to accounting treatment of its bitcoin position and share issuance. Class B shares outstanding decreased by 3,335 to 9,800,012, while SATA holdings remained steady at 7,829,502.
