Dinaro, a Slovenia-based electronic money institution, was added to the European Securities and Markets Authority’s MiCA register of electronic money token issuers on Wednesday, marking Slovenia’s first entry into the EU’s stablecoin regulatory framework.
The ESMA update brought the electronic money token register to 43 entries. Dinaro is supervised by the Bank of Slovenia and provides payment services including card issuing and acquiring. The company holds Mastercard principal membership.
Register Expansion
The same ESMA update added two new crypto-asset service providers (CASPs) to the MiCA register: Partners Banka, a Czech lender, and Volksbank Beilstein-Ilsfeld-Abstatt, a German bank. The CASP register now lists 325 authorized companies.
Altlift, a Czech company that appeared on the MiCA CASP register in early July, was removed from the register. Altlift had been authorized to execute and transmit client orders and provide crypto-asset advice.
Register Status
The asset-referenced token (ART) register remained empty following the update. The non-compliant entity list held 167 entries, unchanged from the previous update.
