Pyth Network has launched a USDY/USD price feed to support Ondo Finance’s yield-bearing USDY asset across Aptos and Sui blockchains. The feed provides real-time pricing data for DeFi protocols integrating the asset into lending markets, collateral systems, and trading products.
USDY is a yield-bearing note structure, distinct from a simple stablecoin. DeFi protocols require reliable pricing data before incorporating yield-bearing real-world assets into their systems. Without accurate oracle data, lending markets can misprice collateral and liquidations can fail.
Oracle infrastructure for RWA adoption
The price feed addresses a core infrastructure gap in real-world asset deployment. RWA adoption requires multiple components beyond token issuance: wallets, exchanges, lending markets, oracles, compliance tooling, custody infrastructure, and liquidity. For USDY as collateral, pricing reliability is essential to support risk parameters and liquidation systems.
Aptos and Sui are newer high-performance Layer 1 networks competing for developers and institutional use cases. The USDY/USD feed expands oracle coverage on both chains, enabling DeFi protocols to price and risk-manage yield-bearing assets alongside traditional collateral.
Pyth Network operates as an oracle network, providing pricing infrastructure for blockchain applications. Ondo Finance issues USDY as part of its real-world asset product suite. The feed’s availability on both Aptos and Sui reflects the multi-chain infrastructure strategy required to support institutional asset classes in decentralized finance.
