Bitcoin traded just above $82,000 on Monday, up nearly 2% over 24 hours and extending gains that began late last week, as falling oil prices lifted broader risk assets including equities and cryptocurrencies.

Brent crude declined for its fourth consecutive session, marking the longest losing run in three months. Oil price weakness eases inflation concerns that have kept the Federal Reserve hawkish, removing a headwind for risk assets.

Traders are monitoring diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran to restore Middle East crude shipments. U.S. President Donald Trump said he would “probably” be open to meeting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian at the U.N. General Assembly this week, signaling potential de-escalation in regional tensions that have pressured energy markets.

Altcoins extended the rally. Monero (XMR) surged 13% to $588, though it pulled back 4% in the past hour. Dogecoin (DOGE) gained 5%, while XRP climbed 4% to $1.45. Ether, Solana (SOL), and HYPE each added 3%. BNB and Zcash (ZEC) rose 2%.

Equities followed. S&P 500 futures rose 0.5% and Nasdaq 100 contracts gained 1%, tracking the broader risk-on sentiment tied to easing oil and geopolitical pressure.
