Binance.US is seeking to raise up to $100 million in a private funding round that would value the US-based cryptocurrency exchange at $1 billion, according to a Bloomberg report. The valuation represents a significant decline from the $4.5 billion pre-money valuation at which the exchange raised $200 million in 2022.

The exchange informed World Liberty Financial, a crypto platform co-founded by US President Donald Trump, about the funding opportunity. World Liberty will not participate in the round,

The fundraising effort comes as Binance.US works to regain market share following the 2023 settlement between its parent company, Binance Holdings Ltd., and US authorities. Binance Holdings agreed to pay $4.3 billion in penalties and accepted additional monitoring and oversight as part of that settlement.

Changpeng Zhao, who was then-CEO of Binance Holdings, pleaded guilty to a felony charge in connection with the settlement and served four months in prison. Zhao received a pardon from Trump in 2025.

Binance.US did not name the investors or investment firms participating in the current funding round. The exchange also did not specify the exact timing or deadline for closing the fundraise, nor did it detail how the capital would be deployed beyond efforts to expand its business and recapture market position.
