Binance has launched a peer-to-peer merchant referral campaign offering 50 USDT rewards across approximately 20 African markets, effective through November 7. The program incentivizes both referrers and qualifying new merchants who meet specified trading thresholds.
The campaign targets markets including Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. New merchants must complete a minimum of 10 trades with at least 10 different counterparties and accumulate 10,000 USDT in cumulative trading volume within 30 days to qualify for the 50 USDT reward. Referrers who bring qualifying merchants to the platform also receive 50 USDT per successful referral.
Qualification and Payment Structure
“Binance says payments will be distributed after the qualifying conditions have been met.” Merchants must undergo verification and complete additional business onboarding as part of Binance’s standard P2P enrollment process.
The reward structure maintains qualification hurdles while expanding Binance’s merchant network in regions where P2P trading has proven particularly effective. P2P crypto trading allows merchants to quote prices and payment methods directly to users for local fiat-to-crypto conversion, solving the last-mile problem in markets with limited conventional crypto payment infrastructure.
Market Dynamics and Merchant Role
Africa represents a strong region for P2P models due to expensive international transfers, currency restrictions, and inconsistent banking access. P2P merchants serve as critical intermediaries, enabling users in these markets to convert local currency into or out of centralized exchanges without relying on traditional financial rails.
The model does carry operational risks. P2P trading can attract fraud, payment disputes, and attempts to circumvent compliance controls, which is why Binance requires merchants to undergo verification before participation.
The campaign runs through November 7 and applies across the designated African markets where Binance operates P2P services.
