Tokenized Semiconductor ETF Now Distributes Cash Payouts
Binance is crediting cash dividend distributions in USDT to holders of SOXL bStocks based on their token balance on the record date, expanding the economic features available within its tokenized-stock product line.
SOXL is a Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3X Shares product, a leveraged ETF with a 3X leverage ratio. Binance’s bStocks platform wraps conventional equity products as blockchain tokens, allowing users to trade them on-chain. Until now, tokenized-stock products have tracked price exposure but struggled to replicate corporate actions and cash distributions that accompany traditional equity ownership.
Dividend payments will be credited directly to users’ spot accounts in USDT, proportional to their eligible SOXL bStocks holdings on the record date. Binance did not specify the record date or the dividend amount per token.
Receiving a dividend through the tokenized product does not grant conventional shareholder voting rights, proxy materials, or direct registration in the issuer’s shareholder records. SOXL remains a leveraged ETF rather than a single company share, and tokenized versions preserve that structure.
The addition signals Binance’s effort to replicate more elements of traditional equity economics within blockchain-wrapped securities. As tokenized-stock adoption expands, handling dividend reinvestment and other corporate actions has emerged as a key operational requirement for exchanges offering these products.
