ARK Invest and Securitize announced on September 24 that eligible investors can now hold tokenized interests in the ARK Venture Fund on Ethereum. The move brings an established interval fund onto blockchain infrastructure while preserving the fund’s limited liquidity structure.

Tokenized shares of ARK Venture Fund (ARKVX) are issued and managed by Securitize, a digital securities platform. The fund invests across private and public technology companies. Only approved wallets may hold tokenized interests, restricting transfer to a controlled set of addresses.

Repurchase Terms and Secondary Trading Limits

ARK caps quarterly share repurchases at 5% of the fund. Repurchase offers are allocated across the entire fund with no separate buyback pool for the tokenized class. The next repurchase request deadline falls on September 30, 2026, per ARK’s published calendar.

The fund describes tokenized shares as unlisted with no secondary market expected. A September 21 SEC order permits ARK to offer a tokenized share class that may trade on alternative trading systems or quotation services, though no trading venue has been announced. Secondary transfers remain restricted to approved wallets.

Regulatory and Structural Framework

The September 21 SEC order grants ARK permission to offer the tokenized share class. Securitize handles on-chain issuance and the investor experience on Ethereum. The tokenized structure does not change the fund’s underlying liquidity constraints or quarterly repurchase process.

ARK did not specify which wallets qualify as approved or how the approval process operates. The company also did not disclose whether investors acquiring tokenized interests after the September 24 announcement can participate in the September 30 repurchase offer.
