Technical education organization unveils multilingual platform targeting 1 million Bitcoin developers
Librería de Satoshi has rebranded to ISMOS and launched a global online platform designed to deliver Bitcoin and open-source developer education across multiple languages and local hubs worldwide, according to Bitcoin Magazine.
The rebrand marks a transition from the organization’s origins as a Bitcoin school for Spanish speakers in Latin America. ISMOS now operates as a technical education platform with curriculum covering Bitcoin, cryptography, cybersecurity, mathematics, AI, Nostr, open-source software, and open AI models.
Since its founding in 2021, ISMOS has reached 3,665 people across 40 or more countries and provided financial support to 30 open-source developers. The organization’s new platform aims to train 1 million Bitcoin developers globally.
Dulce Villarreal, CEO and founder of ISMOS, said: “Talent is universal; opportunity is not. I founded Librería de Satoshi because I experienced the language barrier in Bitcoin firsthand. ISMOS takes that mission worldwide, so that the next great developer can come from anywhere.”
The platform currently offers study programs, direct mentorship, and fellowships in Spanish, Portuguese, and English, with plans to expand to additional languages. ISMOS operates open-source tools available at github.com/ismos-xyz and provides support through programs including B4OS (Bitcoin 4 Open Source), fellowships, and developer residencies.
According to ISMOS: “Someone coding in Argentina, Nigeria, or El Salvador deserves the same chance to build a first-class technical career as anyone in Silicon Valley or London.”
The organization has received support from Btrust and the Human Rights Foundation as primary backers. OpenSats and the Gemini Opportunity Fund provided support in the past.
