Polygon has expanded its Open Money Stack payment infrastructure to Solana, enabling foreign businesses to access US banking rails and stablecoin services without requiring US incorporation. The expansion, which took effect on October 29, connects Solana’s $15 billion stablecoin ecosystem to traditional banking channels, allowing eligible businesses to accept deposits via bank transfer, card, cash, or crypto.
Marc Boiron, Polygon Labs CEO, said the move reflects a core principle driving the infrastructure build: “Moving all money onchain means enabling money to move on the chains people want to use.”
The service integrates traditional banking with Solana’s stablecoin infrastructure. Businesses can accept deposits through multiple channels, convert funds into stablecoins, and process payouts through the same pathways. Participants can hold funds in embedded or custodial Solana wallets and move assets across Polygon, Ethereum, TRON, and other supported networks without manual bridge operations.
Routing and Integration
Polygon had already integrated Solana into its Trails routing infrastructure in August, enabling stablecoin and SOL transfers between Solana and more than 20 Ethereum-compatible networks. The latest expansion adds banking access, customer accounts, stablecoin custody, and fiat payouts to that existing routing capability.
Solana holds the third-largest stablecoin ecosystem outside Polygon’s own network, ranking behind Ethereum and TRON. In 2026, Solana processed $5 trillion in stablecoin transfer volume. Polygon’s stablecoin liquidity stands at $3 billion, ranking eighth across all networks.
Access and Verification
Eligible foreign businesses gain access to the service through know-your-business verification and identity checks. The infrastructure allows participants to bypass US incorporation requirements while accessing US banking rails, a structural shift for cross-border payment flows and stablecoin adoption in emerging markets.
Polygon did not specify which geographic regions or payment corridors are currently supported, or name the financial institutions and fintech companies participating in the integration. The company also did not disclose when early access will transition to general availability.
