Securitize opened trading in tokenized U.S. equities backed one-to-one by real shares, marking the first regulated onchain offering of its kind. The platform launched with 12 tokenized stock names including Apple, Nvidia, Tesla, and Microsoft, each token representing a security entitlement under the Uniform Commercial Code.
Tokens preserve investor rights including dividends and voting rights. Holders can convert entitlements into actual registered shares where the issuer supports conversion. Underlying shares will not be lent out, according to Securitize’s terms.
Initial trading runs on Securitize’s registered broker-dealer platform on Solana, settling in USDC stablecoin. The platform is available to eligible investors in the U.S., European Union, and other permitted jurisdictions. Liquidity flows through Securitize’s Solana-based automated market maker.
Jump Trading is providing market-making services. Ripple Prime and Aave are listed as partners to the offering. Coinbase operates a competing tokenized equities product.
“Tokenized stocks should give investors more than a price on a wrapper that tracks a stock and is only offered offshore,” said Carlos Domingo, Securitize chairman and CEO.
Securitize plans to expand trading to NYSE and OKX-ICE venues. The NYSE venue is designed for 24/7 trading hours. Securitize’s own shares have traded on Solana since July.
The SEC’s “innovation exemption” created the regulatory pathway for this structure. Each token entitles the holder to economic and governance rights tied to the underlying security, with Securitize holding the registered shares in custody.
