Xora Finance has activated native Stellar (XLM) settlement directly on the XRP Ledger, creating a bridge between the two payment-focused blockchains without relying on wrapped assets.

The integration allows value denominated in Stellar to settle through XRPL infrastructure while maintaining its native form. Xora Finance, a custodial neobank built on the XRP Ledger, facilitated the connection as an independent third-party project.

How Native Settlement Differs

Native settlement operates without wrapping or tokenizing assets across chains. Instead of converting Stellar value into a wrapped representation on XRPL, the new structure preserves the asset’s original form through direct settlement. This approach contrasts with wrapped-asset models, which depend on custodians to mint and redeem bridged versions of tokens.

Because Xora is custodial, users depend on the platform for backing and custody of their holdings. The neobank model centralizes asset management while enabling the technical bridge between ecosystems.

Two Older Payment Networks

XRP Ledger and Stellar are among crypto’s longer-established networks, both designed around fast settlement, low-cost transfers, and cross-border value movement. Both share historical roots through early figures and design conversations in the payments space. XRPL’s broader identity centers on payment infrastructure and asset movement.

The integration expands settlement options between the two networks at a time when interoperability between separate blockchains remains fragmented. Cross-chain bridges typically rely on wrapped assets, custodians, or liquidity pools to enable value transfer. Native settlement, by contrast, removes the intermediary asset layer.

Independent Project, Not Official Partnership

Xora Finance announced the integration as its own initiative. The connection is not an official partnership between Ripple Labs and the Stellar Development Foundation. Both organizations remain associated with their respective networks but have not jointly announced the integration.

As a third-party project, Xora’s role is to provide the custodial and settlement infrastructure linking the two ecosystems. The neobank model allows users to move and settle value between XRPL and Stellar without exiting to a centralized exchange or using traditional bridge protocols.
